| When I began my journey with photography back in college I had no idea where this field would take me. I loved the artistic challenge that photography presented and as I began to show my work to my professor she would say, "I think you are headed toward portraiture." This wasn't disconcerting, even though I was studying art and loved photography as an art form. And I can honestly say that I did not forsee what a wonderful ride owning my own portrait business would be. In 2003, after the birth of my first daughter, I decided that a portrait studio was exactly what I wanted so I set up shop inside a children's resale clothing store and began to take clients. Every photographic challenge, whether it was a child, siblings or even a family made the job so rewarding when the families would see thier photos and and say, "Yes, that is us!"After the birth of my second daughter in 2006 I decided to slow the portrait end of the business down and begin focusing more on weddings. I wanted more time with my little girls and this was the way that I made for us. I have absoulutley loved every minute of those years. My time with my little ladies, my time with my wedding couples; I have been so blessed to serve such amazing people! I have photographed over a hundred weddings in the Waco area and abroad. I never tire of the wedding. There are always surprises and always something new to capture. It is the art within the event that draws me in and calls me to create and I love it. Some folks may think that a wedding would be a stressful thing to photography, but I love just rolling with it, hopefully bringing calm where it is needed. I love my job. I have a studio in downtown Waco on Austin Avenue that I am really proud of, and assistants that make me so happy. I am truly thankful for this journey in photography. I am so happy to be able to do what I love to do: look through a little rectangle and see the world, what God has created and to interpret what I see into a work of art, whether it is for a family or a couple begining their life journey. I would be honored to photograph you and your fiance and be a small part of this amazing connection of two lives! I can't wait to meet you and to hear your story and to learn from you.See you soon.Sarah |
